PLAY DOUGH!
Ingredients: 1 cup of flour, 2 tbsp. cream of tartar, 1/4 cup of salt, 1 cup of water, 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, 2 tsp food coloring

Directions: Combine flour, cream of tartar, and salt in saucepan. In a small bowl, combine water, food coloring and vegetable oil. Slowly stir liquid into mixture in saucepan, stirring continually. Cook for about five minutes over medium heat until mixture pulls away from side of pan. When it cools, you can mix it more with your hands. To store, put in ziploc bag or tupperware bowl with lid to keep it fresh. Store at room temperature.


FINGER PAINTS!
Ingredients: 1/2 cup of flour, 2 cups of water, food coloring of your choice

Directions: Mix the flour with a little water, stirring until all lumps are gone. Then stir in the rest of the water. Stir in saucepan over medium heat until the mixture is shiny and thickens. Pour some into small containers: baby food jars, etc. Stir in the food coloring until the paint is the color you desire. Let cool. If you sprinkle salt into the mixture, it will make the paint sparkly.


MACARONI NECKLACES!
Ingredients: variety of pasta with holes, yarn or string, and paint(optional)

Directions: Paint the pasta by dipping or painting them and let them dry. Also consider vegetable colored pasta you buy in the store. This craft isn't only for girsl, boys can do it too. Make presents for friends or grandparents.


PAPER PLATE MASKS!
Supplies: Paper plate, scissors, glue, popsicle stick, marker or crayons, decorative items(glitter, ribbon, feathers, yarn, lace, etc)

Directions: Cut your plate in half, draw two circle in the plate where you want your eyes to be. Cut out the eyes and draw the face. Cut out a piece of scrap colored construction paper, fold it into a triangle and glue it on for a nose. Finally, glue the popsicle stick near the bottom on one side for the child to hold the mask with or you can punch holes in the side and tie string around it. Beware: Small children don't need the tie string for strangulation purposes.


LUNCH BAG PUPPETS!
Supplies: Paper lunch bag, scissors, glue, Yarn scraps, markers or crayons, decorative items as above.

Directions: This puppet will be assembled on the wide side of the bag; the fold will be his mouth. The bottom mouth goes on the bag beneath the flap and the top mouth is attached to the flap. Make a face; glue yarn hair onto his head. Use a pom-pom or cotton ball for the nose. A leftover birthday hat could be cut in half and glued to the top of the head.
