Awesome Math Stuff

Okay. You might be wondering why I have a math page here. I really love math! I actually got back on June 20 from a Math Camp at the University of Iowa. It was really fun. Well, anyway, I am putting these problems up here for anyone else who loves math and logic problems. If you think you have the answers, or want to know them, email me and I'll give you the info you want. Here they are!

Number One: In Para-Doxia, there are two kinds of people. The Paras always tell the truth, and the Doxes always lie. While you are exploring Para-Doxia, you come to a crossroads. One path leads to the beach. The other will get you lost forever in the land of Who-Knows-Where. Two people are at the crossroads. One is a Para and the other a Dox. You ask one of them (it doesn't matter which one) "What will the other say if I ask which road goes to the beach?" That person replies, "They will say it is the road to the left." Which road should you take, the left or the right?

Number Two: There are many problems like this, but this one is probably the most famous. It's called a cryptorithm. It's like a math problem except instead of numbers, there are letters. Each letter stands for a different digit, 0-9. See if you can figure it out!

S E N D
+M O R E
---------------
M O N E Y

You might want to write this one down, since I can't get it to align correctly. Line everything up from the right, like a regular math problem.

Number Three: Each problem contains the initials of words that make it correct. Find the missing words.

Example- 16 = O. in a P. Answer- Ounces in a Pound
Try these:

12 = S. of the Z.

200 = D. for P. G. in M.

1000 = W. that a P. is W.

57 = H. V.

That's all I have right now. I'd love to hear from you about what you think of this. Or if you have any math/logic puzzles or problems of your own, please send them to me! I'll try to post them up here!
