- Main Street was inspired by Walt's hometown of Marceline, Missouri.
- Main Street's street lamps are 150 years old. They were purchased from Baltimore, Maryland for three cents a pound. (Disneyland Souvenir Guide, 1992)
- The base for the flagpole in the center of Main St. was found on Wilshire Blvd. (in Los Angeles) in 1955 at the scene of a traffic accident. A car had collided with a lamp post. The undamaged base cost $5.00. (Ibid)

- The Carnation Ice Cream Parlor, opened since the park's debut, was renovated in 1997 and split into a bakery and a patio service restaurant. (Ibid)
- A seemingly un-Disney-like "Intimate Apparel" shop once existed, from 1955-56 between the Silhouette Shop and the China Closet. It's former storefront is the house that has a porch (a perfect spot to watch a parade). (Ibid)
