- A river once connected the Jungle Cruise rivers to the Rivers of America. To walk between Adventureland and Frontierland you had to cross the river over a small bridge. But in 1962, the river was covered over and run underground and the bridge destroyed for the construction of New Orleans Square. Later, in 1987, to alleviate the crowds in front of Pirates, a bridge was built over the queue line... in almost the exact same spot as the old footbridge. (The E-Ticket, Summer 1993)
