    this is a bit of a funny story. Chrissy was away so Regal didn't go to this show. But my friend Rachel (see below) wanted to take her horse Lex so I went with her. Judy, who shows with me and Chrissy, was there and let me ride her horse ROCKY aka Autopilot. So these ribbons I won with Rocky!

    • The Meadow 6/27/99
    This was it! The show where Regal and I were going to enter our first true hunter classes (not counting the one at Locust Creek!). All of my friends were there to support me and we did really well..maybe not in terms of ribbons but we had good clean rounds and I was happy with our rides! The class was pretty big by Meadow Standards: 9 people!

    After hunters then I had my equitation. Because of how well we'd done in this divison all season we'd been in 3rd place overall (out of 20ish people) like forever. Then with the points from Rocky I was one point off season reserve champion. So if I did well in the equitation this day I'd win an overall award with Regal....from our first show season ever! And we did it!

    Our first show at the infamous Woodedge! Putting aside the fact that this is where I learned how to ride for 7 years this show was a big step up for us....WES holds alot of rateds..shows we "might" do this spring! Although it wasn't our best day ride and ribbon wise we had alot of fun it and was one of those things they call a *learning experince*. We're going back to WES on August 15th and maybe this time we'll have something to celebrate besides the fact that we gained 'experince' :)

    Back to the Meadow for fall series and our first 2'6 class! WEll it was another learning experince I didn't have much prep time cause of being away alot so the fall shows should go better! Still seeing old friends (well I hadn't seen them since JUNE!) was fun!

    The Meadow 9/19/99
    Well we missed shows 2 & 3 but finally made it to show 4 ("where were you?" asked Becky when we showed up). Another learning experience....Big show, crowd rings and tough competition but all in all it was a fun day. We had awesome equ classes but Regy missed a lead in w/t/c and we were beaten by two of the best riders around in equ hack.....oh well. It was still a fun day!

    The Meadow 10/10/99
    One word: rain. The ring was slop, my tack was covered in mud and poor Regal could barely get his flying changes. But we pulled through and had some good trips and I was very proud of us! Also our old friend Katie showed up and we had a great time talking & hanging out. Advice; never show in the rain, it's muddy, disgusting and cold. And oh yeah I spent hours cleaning tack and stuff and did 4 loads of wash (leg wraps and all) the day after the show....and I think my SMBs are still in the basement covered with mud...

    Happy Halloween! Although the hunter didn't go well we ruled the equ & pleasure divisions! This was the judge who hated us back in May and she placed us well this time and we had fun! Now we're 4th overall in equ & pleasure and we had a good time. We have one more show left and our goal is to have clean rounds in all 3 hunter o/f classes.

    The 1999 show season with Regal was the first time I ever showed in anything besides schooling shows. I had a ton of fun and I'm totally THRILLED with how well we did! From winning the Equitation in June, to jumping (and winning) our first hunter course at LCF in May to our pairs class in August to showing in the pouring rain in Septemeber to winning 2 championships in November it was a fun & memorable season! Many thanks to Regal and all of my friends!
