10/25/00-Osito Buddie retires. Ty has posted another newsflash today stating the following:
Our product has recently appeared in a chain of discount / dollar stores.
These plush toys were not purchased directly from Ty Inc., nor do we
believe they were purchased from any authorized dealer. Based on the
amounts involved, we believe these may be counterfeit, stolen or may have
been sold by a charitable organization that received a donation from Ty
Inc. We feel compelled to reaffirm that we do not sell to mass merchants,
discount stores, and dollar stores.
This is an unfortunate situation and we are actively investigating this
matter. In the interim, we ask all of our consumers to use caution when
buying these plush toys as we cannot vouch for their authenticity.BUYER BEWARE!

***JUNE 13TH WITH 24 TEENIE BEANIES!!***
5/30/00-I am hearing the 2000th Teenie Beanie Promotion will start on June 13th. I have an update on some of the new TBB. They are not the same as the ones I was told before. The promotion will start with a speical Millenium Bear for the Ronald McDonald house. There will be 16 regular Teenie Beanies,I have been told Lips the fish, Flitter, Neon. There will be 10 Superstar Beanies, and 2 Top secert Beanies. I also have a picture that has been sent to me.
There are many crew promotional items this year also. Manager's polo shirts,T-shirts, crew pins, baseball hats, aprons, keychains, as well as other items.
TY Announces that Slither and Weenie Buddies have retired.
I want to thank Jim and Gail Johnson for the gift they gave me Saturday, I did not have one yet! These are true Beanie Lovers, (and I didn't know it), Paul and I have known them for years now, and they have read my sight for a long time and they did not know until last month that it is me that writes this sight, we had a great time the day they found out! If you live in north central Massachusetts on southern central New Hampshire and you need a GREAT DJ for a party they are the BEST! Call Crystal Entertainment in Brookline NH. I promise it will be the best party you've ever had! These are very nice people. Thanks again for the gift!
There are changes noted in the Beanie Kids, the change in the girl's panties from a Velcro closure to an
elastic back are significant enough to justify a higher price for the first version. But I do not know if a change has been made in the boy Beanie Kid with elastic shorts. So it does not appear that there are two versions
of the boy Beanie Kids.
If you are selling any of the girl Beanie Kids with the Velcro back
(Version 1), you should make note of this in your auction listing or
classified ad. This version is considered limited, which should enhance
its value as a collectible.

~ Official Ty Inc. Statement ~
"Recently, many of you began asking questions about our relationship with
Internet retail merchants such as Amazon.com, eToys and QVC. It can
certainly confuse people since they all sell our products directly online!
However, let us reassure all of you that we do not supply any of these
companies with products of any kind (nor do we supply product to Internet
auction sites such as eBay). In fact, it is IMPOSSIBLE for any Internet
merchant to claim a relationship with Ty as an authorized retailer or to
guarantee Ty product authenticity. Bottom Line: All Internet merchants and
auction sites must purchase their Beanie Babies® products from secondary
market sources - NOT FROM TY!"

Federal Postal Inspector in finding collectors who were scammed by Beanie
trades with someone in Michigan. A trader has allegedly used dozens of
names, e-mail addresses, and cities (in Michigan) to run an scam operation
dating from 1998 to this year. The trader in question has reportedly just
been indicted and the prosecutors are seeking contact information for all
of the potential victims. If you were taken in a Beanie trade by someone
in Michigan, you may contact pedger10@coredcs.com to report the fraud.

Shop At Home Inc., began advertising Ty Teenie Beanie Babies for sale
before they were available to the general public at McDonald's
restaurants, promoting McDonald's to obtain a preliminary injunction
against the sales. McDonald's then sought recovery for damages from all
defendants for unfair competition, trademark infringement and state law.
The Middle District of Tennessee U.S. District Court Judge Aleta A. Truger
granted the defendants (Shop At Home) summary judgement on the
unfair competion claim. The court noted "it would be inequitable to allow
McDonald's to set up a supply chain that shields it from liability yet
allows it to exercise control over the goods while in the supply chain.",
therefore ruling in favor of the defendant in the case.

took great pride in speaking about his latest creation. UK retailers were

***HAPPY NEW YEAR!***
1/1/00-The New Year came in with no Y2K problems for me so far. I did watch the new year come in around the world yesterday, it was truly a wonderful thing to see! I hope only wonderful things for all of you this coming year. And I wish NEW BEANIES FOR ALL OF US!
I just checked TY's web site and the voting is going very well, over 100,374 have voted so far with a strong YES vote for more Beanies in 2000. This morning more NO votes are being cast.
TY will pay the transaction fees on all the creditcard transactions. 100% of the $ .50 per vote will go to charity!
Looks like The End will miss saying Goodbye today since a link to the InfoBeanie is missing. He did write last night "I'll talk to you tomorrow," does not appear that will happen.
A TY retailer talked with TY INC. about ordering yesterday. Was told he could call them on the 4th of January to place January order.
I will update later tonight on the voting. Have a wonderful first day of 2000!
