What is a Devilpuppy?
Are you called a Military Brat? Does your Dad have to report in at O-Dark Thirty? Is he gone on a float? Sometimes Marines seem to have thier own language don't they? I'm hoping to make it a little more understandable for you. Thats what this page is here for. But I want you to tell me what you want know.

What is a devilpup?
A devilpup is the child of a Devildog(better known as your mommy or daddy).
What is a DevilDog?
A devildog is a Marine. It was the name given to Marines during WWI because of the way they fought. They were determined, persistent, and unbelievable fighting against amazing odds.
What does Semper FI mean?
Semper Fi is short for Semper Fidelis which means always faithful. It is the Marine Corps motto.
What is a float?
When your dad or mom is on a float it means they are deployed at sea.
What is a deployment?
A deployment is when a Marine unit leaves its home base for an extended period time.
My Daddy(or mommy)always stop and stand at attention when they are raising or lowering the flag. Why?
This is called Colors and Marines (and other military) stand at attention out of respect for the flag and what it represents. If you are with your mommy or daddy stand straight, tall and proud next to him.(try not to fidget or play with your hands) and show your respect for the ceremony and all that it represents TOO!
