CBC radio needs a story on an endangered animal. Mr. Lindy Thornsen, host of the afternoon edition, has specially selected you for the assignment.

YOUR TASK:

1. You may choose the endangered animal to research and write about. The animal must be an endangered species from Canada.

2. Use the research outline and bibliography template provided by your teacher to record the information you find out about your animal. Remember to SKIM and use JOT NOTES.

3. Take advantage of the many animal books on display in the classroom. Check the card catalogue for additional material if necessary. You must have at least one book referenced as being used before going on the hotlist to research more information.

4. When you are finished all of your jot notes, complete the reporter outline sheet. Put your jot notes in complete sentences. Ask a friend to help you present your radio interview. You decide if you want to be Lindy Thornsen (the reporter), or the endangered animal giving the answers. Set up a time for your presentation with your teacher.
