What a cheeseball movie! I guess I should begin by saying it was named Executioner II to fool people into thinking they were watching a sequel to the vigilante classic,The Exterminator. You know you are bottom of the barrel if you have to resort to riding Robert Ginty's coat tails.
There is a masked vigilante on the loose killing off criminals. He usually kung fu's them then growls something like"I'm the judge, jury, AND EXECUTIONER!" He then shoves some kind of explosive down their pants. Chris Mitchum is a cop assigned to the case. The police chief is in cahoots with the local kingpin and is putting a lot of pressure on Mitchum to solve the case. Mitchum has a buddy who runs a local garage and we learn from flashbacks that he saved Mitchum's life in Nam, which just happens to look like Ohio or somewhere. Not only is the chief on his ass but his teen daughter is getting into drugs and prostitution. The daughter has a best friend who goes into my hall of fame. She delivers every line at the top of her lungs as if she is trying to talk over a jackhammer, not only that but she says things like "OOOH LOVELY COKE." Honorable mention goes to the kinky kingpin who loves to put out cigarettes on woman. He spends half the move blowing on the tip of his cigarette and looking menacing.
What else can I say?I t's a bad movie. That special kind of bad you don't come across very often. I loved every second of it.The hammy acting..the horrible dialogue..the lame fight choreography..I even loved the corny narrator who sounds like he is right out of an old Batman serial. Available on an old Continental double feature tape along with Frozen Scream, which I'll review one of these days when I work up the nerve to attempt such a feat. -Badfish |
