Special Feeding
Feeding your overweight dog.
- First have your dog checked by a vet to make sure there are no underlying problems.  Follow any advice your vet gives you.
- Weight problems in dogs usually is because of genetic, dietary or hormonal causes.
- Avoid high calorie treats
- Only one person should be in charge of feeding
- Excersize with dog foods low in calories (Light, Weight Control)
- Feed on a regular schedule, and on time
- Cut down on food rewards, give love, attention, play and affection more often
Fussy Eaters
- Changing foods often teaches your dog to wait and see if anything better will come.  Also feeding your dog table scraps.
- To get your dog to eat, try mixing a little canned food and slowly increase the amount of dry while lowering the amount of wet as she gets used to the food.  Or just moisten the dry food.
- For dogs who have a brand preference try feeding a couple of brands one at the morning feeding, the other brand at the evening feeding.
