ETC School of Musical Arts
WHAT IS ETC?
The community based, ETC School of Musical Arts, was formed in 1977 to provide special performance opportunities for young people. Although the names, ages and geographic boundaries have changed over the years, the foundational goals remain the same.

The letters ETC stand For
Energy, Talent, and Commitment, all of which are important attributes of its members.

The organization is comprised of three performing groups, These consist of two show choirs: the All Americans (grades 9 - 12) and the Main Street Singers (grades 5 - 8); and The New Generation Chorus (grades 3 - 6). The members come from all over the greater Akron area, which consists of Cuyahoga, Medina, Portage, Stark, and Summit counties.

ETC incorporates award winning choral singing along with award winning choreography in its performances.  All members are expected to make the most of every opportunity to develop their vocal strengths. The self-esteem and pride that comes with performing in an ensemble is also an important aspect of ETC, as well as the social aspects of meeting and performing for people from all over the community.

ETC is an extracurricular activity. While ETC members are encouraged to be a part of their school programs, members must practice good planning and organization in order to maximize their participation in both ETC events and school events.
