Ink.
An outpouring
of
delicate quill,
black liquid
sliding in
oily sheen
across
the metal nib,
cold and gleaming
as if it would bite,
before
slipping
clinging with drops
of hands and fingers
then
screaming in scratches
soaking
in filigree lines
into paper.
