ALLEN'S OLD RADIO PAGE
One of my hobbies/sidelines is that I like to restore antique radios and sell them.  I have sold several on eBay and one to someone I knew.  The pictures below are of radios that I have restored.
This is a 1950s Truetone radio I bought at an auction.  Its case was made of either Bakelite or hard plastic.  I had to replace a tube, all capacitors and the speaker.  It was a nice little radio and sold on eBay.
This was a 1940s vintage Knight portable radio I found at an estate sale.  It was in a wooden case with a flip-down door.  The case cover was a vinyl-like alligator skin kind of cloth.  It needed cleaning, but it worked fine so I didn't fully restore it.  I sold this on eBay.
This is an early 1950s Motorola 55X11A five-tube table radio.  I bought this radio at an estate sale; it was buried underneath a pile of junk in a garage.  It was filthy, broken, cracked and needed all capacitors replaced.  I worked on it extensively and got it working well and looking good.  It sold on eBay.
Here's a late 1930s RCA Victor table radio, whose model number escapes me at the moment.  It required a total capacitor replacement, and a couple tubes were bad.  I worked on it off and on for weeks, and got it working fairly well.  I sold it to a friend who collects radios.
