On Tuesday, February 21, 2006, the City of Bowie, Maryland issued the “Bowie Proclamation” which appears on this website. This proclamation was issued in honor of the “National Engineers’ Week” . Bowie , Maryland is one of the few city councils to have a registered professional engineer serving as its Mayor Pro Tem. Dennis Brady, P.E. serves as the Mayor Pro Tem as he sits on the City Council with a professional engineer’s license.

Notice that in the “Bowie Proclamation”, the last paragraph to open with the word, “Whereas” says, “Whereas, the last ‘Engineering Tribute to the Presidential Inauguration’ took place at Bowie City Hall on January 20 and 21, 2005.”
