| William D. Sumner, the son of Robert Sumner and Martha Combs was born in March 15, 1874 in Perry County Kentucky. He died April 8, 1947 at Kodak, Perry County Kentucky. He married Martha Roark daughter of Dr. Fernando C. Roark and Polly Madden. Martha Roark was born October 13, 1883 in Perry County Kentucky. She died April 10, 1952 at Kodak, Perry County Kentucky. William and Martha had eight children: Annie, Ellie, Marie, Maude, Fernando, Kathryn, William H. and Olive. They lived and raised their family at the Sumner Family Farm located in Kodak on the right hand side of the road as you start up Kodak mountain on the way to Big Branch or ( Fusonia). William and Martha are buried in the Sumner Family cemetary located on the hill behind the old Homeplace. Our Mother and Father, Benjamin F. and Marie Engle are buried there also. |
