You look in the eye, but are drawn elsewhere
You want to ask, but you wouldn't dare
You quickly turn away so not to stare
What happened to put them in that wheelchair?

People are amusing to say the least
The way we react to humanities beast

We want everyone to look just so
So we all fit in where ever we go

In the south, you must like a country beat
In the north, If you do, you may be kicked out on the street
If the colour of your skin is different than most
You might need to move to the opposite coast
If your head is shaved, they wonder why
Are you ill? Or was just look you wanted to try?

In the east you'd likely have an accent
But, only to those who slang is otherwise spent

If your face is covered with a veil
Are you a woman who man reigns over quite well?

If your clothes are baggy and hardly fit
you must be a rapper wanna be kid

When we see something unusual before our eyes
Do we run from it's surprise?

If yesterday I had a clear complexion
And today I don't hold that perfection
Would you wonder how my face changed so much
Would you still consider hugging me or refrain from human touch?
No matter what it is.. a rash or zit
Your eyes are drawn closely to it

The question is then needed... How would I respond
To your fear of my difference from you.. There is no wand
I can not make this "thing" go away
So you'll have to deal with it or just not stay

Humans are so vain, you know I am right
We hide in darkness away from defense light

Consider an idea if you don't mind
Don't let your soul be so blind
In shallow bodies we hold a heart
We hold a mind and emotions play a part

If you see something different that scares your eyes
Take a breath and just try

Try to realize that it could be you
Or someone you love that bad things happen to

The shell is so temporary and it changes with age
So look to the heart and remove fears cage
