| Super Smash Bros Melee (GC) I'm sure you've all heard of this game by now and know the basics so lets cut to the chase. The game has had little change in gameplay but since the gameplay in the first game was awesome there's nothing to complain about here. The one player game has been improved. Not only is there the classic mode where you fight through different stages with opponents to reach the final boss but a new adventure mode has been included. It contains aspects of platform gaming taken from games such as the Mario and Zelda series and even F-Zero X, this means you must complete a short level to reach your opponent and it really is a cool feature. Aside from that there's the Event mode where you have up to 51 stages of weird scenarios to battle through, such as beating a giant Yoshi or playing as Yoshi and defending your egg, these mini games can be extremely enjoyable and will take a while to complete. There is also a Stadium mode where you can play smaller mini games, see how far you can smash a sandbag, see how many targets you can break before the time runs out or take on an endless amount of enemies on in Multi Man Melee. If all this isn't enough then you can have a go at collecting all the trophies in the game, they appear scattered through levels for you to pick up, can be won in Event mode or bought with coins you earn from playing classic, event or adventure modes. This should take you a while since there are 291 trophies to collect and each one comes with a description and tells you where and when they first appeared in gaming history. You must also work to unlock characters and levels, all in all there are 25 playable characters and more than 20 stages. Every stage has something cool going on aside from the fighting, on the F Zero stages you see cars race around at high speeds, Bombs will fly at Peach's castle, you'll spot aliens on the Metroid levels, some stages even move themselves, Rainbow Ride will start on a flying ship and one will actually have you battling it out on large Pokémon. The Multiplayer mode is also fantastic, with so many different ways to play, giant characters, slow motion, no weapons, you name it, everything is customizable! The garphics are gorgeous, especially on the fighters, the gamelplay is amazing, the sound is perfect, you will even hear tunes from old Nintedo games on some stages, but they sound much better now. I could go into further detail and rant on for ages about how good this game is but there's no time, go buy it now! Graphics- 9/10 Gameplay- 10/10 Value- 10/10 Overall- 9/10 |
