| Smugglers Run: Warzones (GC) I'm not a huge fan of the PS2 so I don't tend to buy PS2 ports, but I made an exeption for this game. There just wasn't much else out in the way of driving games so I thought I'd give this a go, and it's not too bad. The missions are fun at first but soon become slightly repetitive, many simply require you to drive to a location, pick up an item and then drive to another location. The things that make this slightly more bearable are the high speeds and the police, that chase you like dogs, although their AI is almost none existant. They simply follow you in large groups and ram you over and over. This actually makes some levels extremely frustrating. Aside from the standard missions there are a few other modes to give a go, and all can be played with up to four human players. This gives the game a bit more lasting appeal. The graphics are pretty darn good, the draw distance is amazing and there's no visable pop up. The vehicles look great too, but the scenery is slightly lacking. Overall the game is a riot, great fun at first, but soon it will become dull and repetitive. Rent before you buy. Graphics- 8/10 Gameplay- 7/10 Value- 5/10 Overall- 6/10 |
