| 25th Hour 25th Hour depicts the last night of Monty Brogan's life of freedom before he begins a seven year jail term for drug dealing. Prowling through the city until dawn with his friends, he is forced to re-examine his life and how he got himself into his predicament. The story is interesting enough but it's the characters that are really holding the movie together. Edward Norton is superb in the lead role while Philip Seymoure Hoffman, Barry Pepper and Rosario Dawson make a great supporting cast. The direction from Spike Lee is slightly odd and the angle taken with the editing is questionable, also the movie can get quite confusing, with flashbacks never being clear enough. Overall though, this is a great film, well acted with some fantastic scenes but with some better pacing and direction it could have been a lot better. Rating- 7/10 |
