| Chicago A flash of leg, the taste of gin, the smell of corruption, and things that go bump in the night. Anywhere else it would be a crime, but this is Chicago. The story of Velma Kelly (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Roxie Hart (Renée Zellweger), striving for fame and public attention, while incarcerated for murder, with the help of lawyer Billy Flynn (Richard Gere). The story is interesting if not a little predictable, but this doesn't stop you from enjoying the movie. The acting is great, the music is fabulous and what's best about the film is the choreography and the way it's shot, it's just fantastic! Sometimes, though, it feels as if there's just too much singing, it certainly outweighs the dialogue, and this can become slightly tiring. Apart from that small gripe this is a great, highly entertaining film. If you like musicals then this is a must see. Rating- 7/10 |
