| Final Destination 2 AJ Cook plays Kimberly Corman, a girl who has a vision of her death, and that of those around her, in a horrific car accident, she manages to escape unhurt with a few others but soon the survivors are being killed off one by one, why? because death is pissed. Plot wise this is just a rehash of the original, but the reason to see this film is not for the story but for the death scenes. If you've seen Final Destination then you'll know what to expect, overly elaborate and highly improbable death sequances that tear your nerves to shreads. I must warn you though, this movie is extremely gory, the director does not seem to know the meaning of subtlety, this is in your face non-stop carnage, impalings, decapitations, flattenings, it's all here. Where the first one made you jump this one will make you cringe, simply because there aren't many outright shocks, you know when someone's going to die but the fun lies in guessing how, there are tons of red herrings that keep you guessing, will it be the garbage disposer, will it be the fire, will it be the dentists needle? maybe that hanging canoe, or possibly that bowling ball. Apart from the enertaining, but slightly disturbing, deaths there's not much else to keep you watching, the plot has a million holes in it, the acting is pretty bad and the characters are idiots. Those of you expecting to see Devon Sawa reprise the role of Alex will be dissapointed, he's been disposed of in the most laughable way, it's just atrocious, you will be pleased though that Ali Larter makes a comeback as Clear Rivers. The best part of this movie is the opening, the highway accident, it's very tense, the rest of the movie though is simply comprised of ever more violent deaths and rubbish dualogue. If you like gore, watch this, it's entertaining and nail biting at times, if you don't like gore then don't watch this, it's as simple as that. Rating- 5/10 |
