| The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring I know for a fact that a lot of you out there had been looking forward to Lord of the Rings, it must be good right? Well, it's good. The thing is it's three hours long. That's just too much. Especially since the first hour and a half is just setting the story and the action doesn't really kick in properly until the last hour. Don't get me wrong the fight sequences are really good and the CGI is very convincing but it just doesn't take your mind off of how slow paced this film can be. The set pieces and locations are stunning, the worlds really look real and full of magic and mystery. The characters are interesting and convincing and the cast is brilliant. The story itself follows the first book quite closely but for those of you who have never read the book the story in it's simplest form is about a hobbit called Frodo who is in possesion of an evil ring that he must destroy so along with a few friends he sets off to the dark world where the ring was forged because that's the only place where it can be destroyed. Along the way he must fight off hordes of evil creatures that want to steal the ring from him. You'll either love this or hate it. If you enjoyed the books then you'll most probably love this. If you don't like fantasy and can't sit still for three hours don't even consider this. Rating- 7/10 |
