Punch Drunk Love
Adam Sandler plays Barry Egan, a small business owner
with seven abusive sisters. When a harmonium and a
mysterious woman enter his life he embarks on a
romantic journey. This wonderfully weird story is full of
tension, drama and comedy. Sandler is exceptional in his role, as is Emily Watson who plays his love interest. Paul Thomas Anderson's direction is superb and the cinematography is beautiful. The film looks stunning and is likely to take your breath away. The script is rather well written but some may call it dull. The movie seems slightly rushed and unfinished, it's very short and the ending might leave you a little unsatisfied. Overall though this is a great film, it looks amazing and the performances from the two leads are very good indeed but unfortunately it is slightly undeveloped.
