| Scooby Doo The best jokes on offer here are ones that actually poke fun at the original cartoon series, unfortunately they are rare. The humour is mainly aimed at children who will laugh at the slapstick comedy, which there is plenty of. This is a shame because if the film had been aimed at a slightly older audience it would have been much less pointless. The cast are great but Matthew Lillard really gets into character and stands above the rest. The plot is a little dull but allows for some great action scenes. One strange thing is that there are real monsters, isn't the whole point of Scooby Doo that it's always someone in a costume? The ending is great, tons of special effects, action and a big suprise. Scooby Doo could have been awesome, but unfortunately it's been turned into an immature and childish film lacking everything that was so great about the cartoon series. Rating- 4/10 |
