The Simpsons Season 1 DVD (PG)
After a long wait The Simpsons has arrived on DVD. The first season of the show wasn't too funny in my opinion and it didn't really find it's edge until around the third season, nontheless this is still great stuff. The DVD contains all 13 episodes from the season spread out over 3 discs.
The picture is presented in it's original 4:3 ratio and is beautiful to look at, the colours are bright and vivid, everythings sharp and clear and the only problems would be with the animation on the show and not with the DVD. The sound is DD 5.1 and is fantastic, better than you'd expect from other TV shows.
The extras include commentary for every episode, 4 original scripts with notes on them, outtakes from "Life On The Fast Lane", partial unaired episode, Tracy Ullman Short: "Goodnight Simpsons", Animatic for "Bart The General with commentary", "The Making Of The Simpsons", foreign language clips, picture gallery and two easter eggs; magazine covers and a report on Simpsons T-Shirts.
Overall this is a good season on a brilliant DVD. Fans of the Simpsons should own this already and if you don't, go buy it now!
