The Ring
When her niece spotaneously dies of fright one week to
the day she watched a mysterious tape, a cynical journalist
(Naomi Watts) tries to unravel it's sectret, but she's
running out of time, after all, she's also seen the tape. An interesting story unfolds along with some great scares, keeping this entertaining throughout. Some parts are very tense, some will you make you jump and some are rather disturbing. This whole movie plays out like some kind of nightmare, and it's likely to give you a few too. The acting, the script and the direction are all good and the cinematography is excellent, but may not be to everyones liking. The movie does slow down half way through but the ending keeps it from drying up completely, it's very creepy and leaves the viewer slightly unsettled but certainly not disappointed. Overall this is a very stylish film with an intriguing plot and some brilliant scares, it's definately one of the better horror movies of recent years.
