| The group is Vision... It's about visualizing a change. A change to enter your imagination and rewrite the rules. With intelligence and original thinking, to question everything that IS, and to change everything that was. It's about discovering and navigating new ground. It's about a VISION to change the music world as we know it. The music is Versatile Rock... Rock music that is not limited by category or subject. Music that is not held bound by any rules. Rock music for the new generation. Meet the girls... Jennifer and Mary Owczarski---sisters and dual-creators of the new upcoming project, VISION. A rock band from New Jersey, USA that is sure to awaken the music scene from it's current resting place, with it's fresh, new razor-edged sound that washes over the listener with bittersweet melodies and poetic lyrics... But, make no mistake, just like their male mentors, these ladies know how to rock. They have come to be taken seriously. Strongly and clearly influenced by such talented groups as NIRVANA, BUSH, COLLECTIVE SOUL, APRIL WINE, BROTHER CANE, GOO GOO DOLLS, STABBING WESTWARD and the explosive Latin-Rock sensation LA LEY, Vision's music brings together the Grunge, Alternative styles, combining it with Southern Hard Rock and Techno-Industrial sounds. With a touch of New Wave Punk and a sprinkle of Latin Rock for flavor...This is what makes VISION so unique to the present-day music scene, strongly living up to their VERSATILE ROCK label. Coming straight from the heart of NEW JERSEY, a state known for supplying the world with such rock sensations as BON JOVI and BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN just to mention a few, Vision's JENNIFER and MARY grew up very musically inclined. Raised in a family where their Grandfather played a huge part of the Big Band-era by way of clarinet, and their Father rocked the Jersey club curcuit for over 15 years with his Beatlesque sound...These two people would have an incredible impact on the girls. Amidst and surrounded by a family of aunts, uncles and cousins in constant musical competition is extremely intimidating. But, JENNIFER and MARY arose from all the pressures of their musical environment and found their own identity. It suddenly became clear through the sudden loss of their Mother in 1987. The tragedy somehow made them realize who they were deep on the inside, and then , they began to express these feelings through music in their own very original way of thinking... Also, owing alot of the inspiration to the Canadian hard rock-outfit APRIL WINE, whose music paved the path and ignited the flame. Songs such as the bombastic "KISS OF DEATH" and the powerfully intense "I MAY RISE" shows these girls' abilities to create a heavy ' bring down the house' sound, while others, like the sensative "DRIFT AWAY" --- sends you spiraling down the fountains of harmony and incredible deep emotion......Poetic, while powerful---bittersweet, if you will.... The time has come for the world to witness--- to open their eyes and see this new image and concept of ROCK....... The "VISION" is the mission.... |
