| Kankuro is the middle sibling of the Sand Trio, the three children of the late Kazekage of the Sand Village. Rather rough and mean-tempered, Kankuro is still loyal to the Sand Village. Although he was scared to death of Gaara before his reform, Kankuro enjoyed the fear he invoked in others as well, and was glad to be on his younger brother's side. Now that Gaara has mended his ways, Kankuro still follows his lead, partially because it is what he is used to doing, and partially because he wants to see the Sand village regain its power. He really doesn't care who he's fighting, as long as he has someone to show off his considerable talents against. Kankuro is a master pupeteer. Not the children's entertainment brough to mind when one usually thinks of puppets, but battle puppets controlled by strinks of Chakra, built by the now rogue Sand-nin Sasori of the Red Sand. These puppets are deadly, filled with traps and weapons, and Kankuro is an expert at controlling them with his chakra while remaining far out of harms way himself. He has two puppets, Karasu, which is an offensive puppet, and Kuroari, which is used to ensnare and trap enemies. He can control both at once in amazingly complex ways with great precision. Although still inwardly bitter over the Sand's defeat and subsequent surrender to Konoha, Kankuro does his best to repress those sentiments, in order to keep on the good side of his superiors and do what seems best for the Sand. |
