Enviro-Act is a Montreal-based student group deeply concerned about environmental issues.  Our major form of community outreach is in conferences focusing on specific topics such as last year's effort on water and trade which included such speakers as Ricardo Petrella, head of the Association for a World Water Contract and Maude Barlow, head of the Council of Canadians.  This year's conference, entitled "Creating Your Climate for Change" is an attempt to inform Montrealers and motivate them to act on climate change.

The bulk of the conference takes place on Saturday the 6th of April at the University of Quebec at Montreal downtown campus and consists of expert speakers, discussion panels, hands-on workshops and inspirational local stories (see outline ).   We would also like to re-launch " The Bet ".  This is an initiative of the Climate Change Caravan - a group of cyclists who travelled across Canada last summer inciting citizen action despite government inaction on climate change.

Our efforts in this endeavour are very much grassroots and thus our budget is limited.  We are requesting funding from various organisations; we would appreciate any contribution you or your organisation might make towards the project.  In order to render this event accessible to a wide audience, we are seeking to keep admission costs to an absolute minimum.  Please see the general outline of the planned conference.Image of a wind turbine
