The main (and most ancient) Enya list is the one run by Tim Hunter. It comes in two ways:
The activity on this list is usually high, thus making the digest version useful.
To subscribe to the Enya mailing list, send a message to majordomo@cs.colorado.edu with no subject and, in the message body, the words:
subscribe enya
or:
subscribe enya-digest
To unsubscribe from the Enya mailing list, send a message to majordomo@cs.colorado.edu with no subject and, in the message body, the words:
unsubscribe enya
or:
unsubscribe enya-digest
according to which form you have subscribed.
In addition to the subscribe/unsubscribe commands, you can send the following commands to the list server at majordomo@cs.colorado.edu
In the description below items contained in []'s are optional. When providing the item, do not include the []'s around it. Items in angle brackets, such as <address>, are meta-symbols that should be replaced by appropriate text without the angle brackets.
Command | Result |
get <list> <filename> | Get a file related to <list> |
index <list> | Return an index of files you can "get" for <list> |
which [<address>] | Find out which lists you (or <address> if specified) are on |
who <list> | Find out who is on the named <list> |
info <list> | Retrieve the general introductory information for the named <list> |
intro <list> | Retrieve the introductory message sent to new users Non-subscribers may not be able to retrieve this |
lists | Show the lists served by this Majordomo server |
help | Retrieve these descriptions |
end | Stop processing commands Useful if your mailer adds a signature |
Commands should be sent in the body of an email message. Multiple commands can be processed provided each occurs on a separate line. Commands in the "Subject:" line are not processed.
Messages to the list must be sent to enya@cs.colorado.edu. Every list member will receive a copy of the message.
If you have not subscribed to the list, you can read the latest messages at http://www.escribe.com/music/enya.
This list has been created to complement the Enya-related artists FAQ which is published monthly on the newsgroups alt.music.enya, alt.answers and news.answers.
If you wish to subscribe to this list, go to http://www.coollist.com and fill in the form. The name of the list is enyalike. Once you are subscribed, send your messages to enyalike@coollist.com. They will be forwarded to all the users on the list. Please send only plain text messages, no binaries nor HTML files.
The list provides a forum for discussing artists whose music is related to Enya's, either from the "traditional" side or from the "new age", or electronic, side. In addition, subscribers receive FAQ updates as soon as they are available, without having to wait for the appearance of the FAQ on the newsgroups. To minimize e-mail volume, the updates are sent as DIFF files, which, as their name implies, contain only the differences between the current and updated versions of the FAQ.
To use DIFF files you need a special program named PATCH. This is a free program available in MS-DOS and LINUX versions. You can download the following files from this site:
Here are the instructions to use PATCH:
patch < xxx.dif
where xxx.dif is the name of the DIFF file.
The FAQ will be automatically updated and a backup copy of the old FAQ will be saved.Note: The patch.zip file available on this site contains only the executable program patch.exe. The "official" distribution, which contains documentation and sources, is available at the GNUish project home page.
There are several other mailing lists devoted to the discussion of Enya's music, or related artists. However, their activity is much lower than with the "main" Enya list.

Mailing lists at onelist.com
Two newsgroups are devoted to the discussion of Enya's music: alt.music.enya and alt.fan.enya. However, most messages are posted to the first.
Enya is also occasionally discussed on rec.music.celtic or rec.music.newage.
If you have no access to the newsgroups, the following services may be useful:
Here is a selection (arbitrary, of course!) of some interesting topics which have been discussed in the past. Unless otherwise specified, the messages come from the mailing list.
