About Us The Essence of Darkness is a force that has always been. When the world was created, the Essence of Darkness was what created all that is dark and what gives power to darkness. The gods of darkness, even Thak, draw their power from the Essence of Darkness. No mortals knew the secret to tapping in on the power of darkness, only the gods were blessed with that knowledge. This changed when two followers of Thak, Xeldorn and Zabooku, began a quest of knowledge, a search for enlightenment. Many years went by, many hours of deep meditation, much spilled blood, and many miles of road and still they hadn't discovered the secrets they were searching for. One night, while deep in meditation, a knight of Thak creeped upon Xeldorn and Zabooku. Weilding a strange green kryss with a dark aura around it, the knight slew them both, but that was not to be the end, it was to be a whole new begining. Although all of their searching was futile ,for the Essence of Darkness is not a thing that can be found by mortal ways, Thak saw all of their struggles and favored them greatly. Realizing the advantage that could be gained in his war against Nueth, Thak created the Dark kryss of Undeath, a weapon that would make it possible for a mortal to learn of the Darkness. By slaying a mortal with this weapon, the mortal will come back as an undead being, imbued with the power and knowledge of darkness. Thak sent out one of his Knight's with this weapon and created with it, the first normal mortals imbued with darkness. The knight then gave the kryss to Xeldorn and Zabooku with instructions to create a cult of Darkness so that Thak may gain advantage in his war against the light gods. Thus, Essence of Darkness, a guild dedicated to Thak and empowered by the Essence of Darkness was created. EoD is currently recruiting level 10 and up players who we see fit to join.
