From The President:

This year is moving by fast - with April Showers in the Air, I must admit I will be ready for the flowers of May! April is a fun month though. My Mom loved April Fools Day. What a great way to begin a new month - with a little love and humor in the air! Mom would always get the goods on my dad, and he would just smile! I seem to have difficulty thinking of fun ideas, so I watch my husband play little funnies on our girls... Still love and smiles in the room! Some things really are worth passing on.

Our joint luncheon with the ROWC was wonderful!! Thanks to Barbara Harrington for planning and coordinating this with us! And as always, Saralynn Vied got us off to a Spring start with some nice door prizes! Thank you to all of you who attended this luncheon. I really believe in the importance of bridge building. We will all be blessed for years to come, because of the actions we make today. I look forward to help making this a yearly tradition.

Our annual Art Auction was another winner! Thanks to Ann Monahan for her awesome efforts as our fundraising guru! This was a fun event, and I know many people went home with some added touches for their homes. Not to mention, they helped us help others through their purchases. Nice to keep the circle in motion - as this is why our club exists: To build friendships and to serve our community. I think we are succeeding well at both!!

The 2003-2004 candidates for elected office have been slated by the nominating committee. We will vote on the slate this month. Thank you to all those who are volunteering their precious time and energy to serve. Please know there are many appointed positions still available and we need your help to fill them. Contact Kara Fontenot for more information....

Now - what we have been waiting all year for has finally arrived.... Gourmet Bingo Night! We are looking into possibly providing childcare for that evening so be sure to ask when you call in your reservation. We are playing on April 16, and we promise nothing less than massive fun! Hope you can come out and join us - we have been waiting for you!

God Bless,

                                                               Mink Price

VINTAGE EGLIN COOKBOOK

A copy of the first cookbook ever written by members of the Eglin Officers Wives Club was found recently at a local garage sale. Published in the year 1960, it is full of fabulous recipes and cooking hints as well as clever and humorous illustrations. In conjunction with the local Red Cross, who noted that many prominent citizens and former Red Cross Volunteers had made recipe entries in the book, we are in the process of producing a reprint.

As back in 1960, we are planning to utilize local businesses to place ads within the cookbook to cover some of the printing costs. Business ads are available NOW!

If you are interested in advertising in this book, please contact Ann Monahan.
