"A Vampire's Journal" Part 4
Betrayed
(Note: The following story contains graphic language and some violence. Reader discretion is advised)
January 1, 2001
As I sit here thinking of going out for a bite, I still can't
believe what happened down in New Orleans. It scared me, as I sit
here thinking about it I still hear the screams of all the
others, which was the night that all vampires found a new way to
die.
That night I made my self a promise, if I got back home to Ohio
alive, I would start a journal.
August 28, 2001
We stepped off of the walkway onto the sidewalk, as I looked
around I seen nothing but I knew there was eyes upon us. Jerome
walked as nothing was around except for us he hailed a cab, as we
got in to that stuffy cab, I still could smell the scent of the
last passenger it was a female, that was on her period, she also
was a smoker, I told the cabby where to take us, he looked at me
like I was stupid, then he said.
"I'll take you to the bottom of the hill to that loony bin,
those people are fucking crazy, and so are you two for going
there."
Fifteen minutes later we pulled up to the house as I gave him his
mind back he looked around with a look of horror on his face.
"So I guess you are just as stupid as the rest of us?"
I said with a smirk across my face.
We just got out of the car when he peeled out almost hitting a
few statues that was in the yard. The house was a three-story
mansion over looking the city.
As we knocked on the door I thought to myself this place does
look like a house for a vampire. The door opened and there in
front of us was a fourteen-year-old girl smiling; she has red
hair with a streak of blond through the middle.
"You must be Mr. Gravely and Mr. Wilson the mistress as been
waiting for you."
"Where is she so I can speak with her child."
"She's out right now but she told me to show you both to
your rooms so if you will follow me."
We went up the stairs behind our young hostess. I was admiring
the art of the house it was great and decided to build one just
like it in Ohio, we came to two doors beside each other, and she
looked at us.
"Mr. Gravely your room is on the right, and Mr. Wilson yours
is the one on the left."
As she walks away she had a smirk on her face, and ever since we
came into contact with that beautiful girl I felt like there was
something wrong. Her scent was neither human, nor did she smell
like a vampire, at the time I couldn't make out what she smelled
like. So after she left I told Jerome that we was going to change
rooms, he started to resist, but I changed his mind as he entered
his room. I entered mine, it was a nice room no windows, and just
one door, the bed was a queen size, and their in the corner was a
recliner. I laid down and went to sleep.
August 29, 2001
As I woke I was startled, for at the foot of my bed stood Shanna.
She was still so beautiful, as she was the first day that I saw
her. I got up and just stared at her, my love in all of her
splendor, for it has been awhile since I seen her naked. I
reached out for her feeling her in my arms again, made me want
her even more. I brushed her hair from her face; we hugged with
my lips close to her ear I whispered.
"I still love you, and want you, more then anything in this
danmed world."
She giggled as we put our lips together; she parted her lips so
my tongue could enter her mouth. I slowly slipped a hand down to
her buttocks; we collapsed on the bed as we made love. Three
hours later we got up, and dressed as we left the room I heard
Jerome wasn't alone either and that disturbed me greatly I turn
to Shanna.
"Your family does know that no other vampire shall bite my
man servant don't they."
"Yes my lord but you don't need to worry Amanda is no
vampire there for she can't turn him in to one."
"Who is this Amanda?"
"You met her last night when she showed you both to your
rooms."
"What she is to young!"
"No she's twenty-one. Ahh yes her looks is deceiving aren't
they."
"Yes they are." I looked at her strangely, as we glide
down the stairs. The aroma that filled my nostrils was very
strange indeed.
"Why did you change rooms last night. You know I went to
Jerome, thinking it was you, I'm glad I saw him before I awoke
him."
"I didn't like the way Amanda looked at us."
"Well no harm done I found you."
She showed me around her home, and introduced me to her new
family, and a few friends. Which had the same scent as Amanda.
They looked at me very confused which made me very nervous.
Shanna and I left, as we were gliding down towards the town I
asked her who they were. She said that they were gypsies, and
they needed a place to stay, while they were in town. She told
them they could stay there, but don't wake them during the day
and they agreed.
She told me about some strange murders that happen, and she
assured me it wasn't her or her family's doing, that was the
reason behind her asking us down here.
We were standing outside of a bar, waiting in an alley across the
street so we could have a good look at both doors. Then I spotted
something moving in the alley beside the bar it was to fast for a
human and a little slower then a vampire it bothered me, I told
Shanna that I was going to check out that alley because I thought
I seen something.
I ran across the street so fast that I ran right up the wall of
the building beside the bar, after reaching the roof I looked
back, and seen Shanna approaching her meal of the evening. I then
started scanning the ally below, and then I saw something there
on the pavement. I floated down for a better look I seen it
really was blood, but the aroma was different then human blood,
there was a trail leading down the alley. I followed it to a dead
end then it disappeared. My luck got better though there on the
ground was a homeless person and she had some sort of infection.
I was hungry so I fed from her as I ate my dinner I started to
feel bizarre. The blood tasted worse then any blood I ever
tasted. I couldn't let go of her soon she laid lifeless in my
arms, and out of anger I tore her head cleanly off of her
shoulders.
We arrived home before sunrise, when Jerome approached me he told
me that a couple of the gypsies had left, and only one of them
came back. I still felt a little strange. I told Shanna that I
was going to retire for the day.
August 30. 2001
I awoke a little early, figuring it was around six in the
evening; I went down stairs and walked in where I heard voices.
The room was full of sun light, I started to retreat, but I
notice that my skin was a little warm, but not burning. I looked
around the room, I seen the gypsy queen setting in the middle of
the room with her clan gathered around her Amongst them I saw
Jerome, I startled them, Jerome stood up and came over to me and
told me what was going on, they found one of there clan members
in a ally with her head ripped off.
I thought back to the night before, of the young homeless woman
that I fed from, and how I felt. Know that I can stand the 4
o-clock sun. The more I thought about it the more I remembered
that she had the same scent as the gypsies.
Did I kill one of theirs? I thought she was just a homeless
woman. I thought to my self, standing there in front of them. As
I looked up and met the eyes of their Queen staring at me, like
she was reading my mind, I got a tingling feeling in my bones
that I couldn't shake. Their Queen was an elderly woman with salt
and pepper hair she looked like she was at least a hundred years
old.
She stood up, and looked around the room, than her eyes fell back
upon me as she spoke.
"My people will have their revenge for the lost of their
princess. Like the saying goes an eye for an eye and a head for a
head the creature that did this will suffer the most."
She sat down, and I turned around to leave, then I turned my head
around and saw that all of them were staring at me. As I walked
out I thought to my self. Do they know that it was I or are they
guessing it was because I just arrived here then again so did
Jerome and it is like they adopted him into their fold?
A few minutes later I entered Shanna's room. She lay on her bed
looking so innocent and naked. I went over and sat beside her my
hand moving over her nice firm chest, she awoke and smiled at me,
and then she saw that I wasn't paying attention to what I was
doing.
"What's wrong Orion?" She asked with concern on her
face.
"Those people down stairs they aren't vampires nor are they
human. So do you know what they are my dear?" I asked
staring in her beautiful black eyes.
"No they aren't they are Werewolves. Why do you ask."
"We need to talk else where, for they might hear what we
will say to one another."
"Ok later. But right know I what you in me." She said
smiling and rubbing my thigh.
Later that night
Orion and Shanna were standing at the edge of the hill, looking
down at the city. They already had their feast, and now they were
talking.
"Orion what did you want to tell me at the house?"
Orion looked around for a few minutes to make sure no one can
over hear them then he took her by the hand in his and they
looked out over the lake.
"I think I killed their little princess last night but I
thought she was just a homeless person and when I took her blood
it made me feel funny and before I could get a hold on my self
her body was laying on the ground and her head was in my
hands."
" Shit if you did they will kill you and every vampire
around here you fucked it up for all of us."
She took off from him yelling something behind her. Orion stood
there feeling worse then he did before he told Shanna, what would
she do, will she help him get rid of the werewolves, or will she
join them against him. What will Jerome do join his new girl
friend's people or will he be on his side? He stayed gone for a
few days, thinking and wondering what to do.
I was looking at the house of vampires from a distance, it felt
all wrong and very strange, something was missing and something
else was added, but he couldn't put his finger on it. I got
closer and looked into a window, what I saw pissed me off there
in the middle of the room was Jerome tied up, and Shanna and a
few of her people chained like wild animals, facing the wall with
no cloths on and blood running down their bodies like water. I
looked around and seen nobody else in the room so I turned in to
mist and went in through the crakes of the window. After becoming
solid again I went over to Shanna and ripped the chains out of
the walls, she fell into my arms, looking into her lovely face I
knew she was truly dead I looked at her body and there in her
chest was a gaping hole where her heart once was I looked up and
let out a mournful scream. Then I remembered that Jerome was in
the room and when I looked behind me I saw Jerome and three
others standing there with smirks on their faces I was about to
speak when Jerome held up his hand and said.
"Orion don't say a thing this is for what you did to the
queens daughter we are letting you live but if we run into you
ever again we will kill you do you understand me murder.
"Yes I understand you but heed my words asshole if I see any
of your kind I will wage war against them.
We parted our ways that night I still am not sure when he was
turn but I figured it was the first night with his whore.
