The Ranger class is definately one that is made to be a tank. Along with getting most of the Warrior abilities, they can wear most types of armor other than plate mail and can wield almost any weapon. Rangers may wear cloth, leather and chainmail based armors along with some magic armors, a few of which give a platemail appearance. Rangers may wield 1 Hand Slash, 2 Hand Slash, 1 Hand Blunt, 2 Hand Blunt and Piercing weapons along with the ability to wear/hold a shield with the exception of when they wield a 2 Handed weapon. This section will mainly focus on Ranger only armor and a few weapons that are almost or completely exclusive to the Ranger Class. There are 2 types of armor that are exclusive to only the Ranger class, they are Ivy Etched Armor and Thorny Vine Armor. Ivy Etched Armor is Lore (with the exception of the bracers) and is obtained through quests originating in Kithicor Forest and has a rich green colored chain mail appearance. Thorny Vine Armor is No Drop and is obtained though killing creatures in the Plane of Fear and has a medium to dark green plate mail appearance. With both armors, only the bravest and most experienced Rangers may be able to obtain them. They are not easy to get but I am sure, as any Ranger who has obtained them will testify, they are indeed a prized reward to have earned. The statistics for these armors are listed below.

There are many weapons in the lands of Norrath that Rangers may wield but there are a few that are almost or exclusively limited to Rangers. Most are not very easy to get. Only the most seasoned veterans may venture or quest to find these fine magic weapons. These weapons are listed below in order of initial weapon damage. Revultant Whip - 5 Damage, 14 Damage, 1.0wt., +5 Dexterity, +4 Agility, +5 save Disease, +5 save Poison, Magic 1 Hand Slash, Lore, No Drop. Ranger ONLY. Found on a Revultant Rat in the Plane of Hate. Short Sword of Morin - 6 Damage, 22 Delay, 3.0wt., +3 Strength, +3 Agility, Magic 1 Hand Slash, Lore, No Drop. Ranger ONLY. Obtained through Kithicor quest. Ebony Bladed Sword - 7 Damage, 24 Delay, 2.0wt., Effect of Ensnaring Roots (small Direct Damage and roots enemy in place), Magic 1 Hand Slash. Ranger ONLY. Found on the Minotaur Patriarch in Lower Guk. Fluxbladed Axe - 7 Damage, 22 Delay, 3.0wt., +5 Strength, +4 Stamina, Effect of Chaos Flux (150 Direct Damage), Magic 1 Hand Slash, Lore, No Drop. Ranger ONLY. Found in the Plane of Fear. Scimitar of the Mistwalker - 10 Damage, 25 Delay, 2.5wt., Effect of Mistwalker (summons a wolf pet to help you fight), Magic 1 Hand Slash, Lore. Ranger and Druid only. Found on Lady Vox. Spined Dragon Claws - 10 Damage, 21 Delay, 3.5wt., Magic 1 Hand Slash. Found on the Dracolichein in the Plane of Fear. Trueshot Longbow - 20 Damage, 45 Delay, 100 Range, 3.0wt., Lore. Ranger ONLY. Assembled by a highly skilled Fletcher who has obtained the Treant Bowstaff (along with other components) from completing a Kelethin quest. Rain Caller - 20 Damage, 45 Delay, 200 Range, 3.0wt., + 6 Strength, +6 Dexterity, 5 Charges of Firestrike, Magic, Lore. Ranger ONLY. Obtained through Felwithe quest that is given after completing the Trueshot Longbow quest. |
