Adam was the homeless man who together with Ruthanne Owens took care of Stephanie on the streets. Stephanie had just suffered a mild stroke caused by all the stress in her life. The stroke caused her to lose her memory. She got into her car and started driving, not knowing where she were going. She stopped and got out in one of the worst neighborhoods in Los Angeles. A couple of muggers stole her car, clothes and money. Everything she had with her. Stephanie didn’t know where to go or where she came from. She didn’t even know her name.
She met Ruthanne, an Afro-American woman who lived at the streets. She felt bad for Stephanie as she obviously didn’t know how to survive at the streets. Ruth took her in to the abandoned building she stayed at and let Stephanie stay there with her. They found some clothes for Stephanie to wear in a dumpster and some food for the evening. Adam, a friend of Ruth’s came by one day and immediately took a liking in Stephanie. Together with Ruth, he taught her how to survive. Since Stephanie didn’t know her own name, they called her “Liz”. Weeks went by and Stephanie built a strong relationship with Adam and Ruth. The Forresters had no idea she was missing, they assumed she had gone on a vacation to be alone for a while. It was Sally Spectra who found Stephanie when she and Ruth were going through Spectra Fashions dumpster. Sally couldn’t believe her eyes. She contacted the Forresters, who didn’t believe her considering that Sally was their enemy. But Sally was so sure it had been Stephanie. She contacted Bill Spencer to get a photo of Stephanie and had posters of Stephanie put up on the streets with a reward sum for the finder. Adam found one and saw it was her. He and Ruth took Stephanie to the Forrester mansion even though Stephanie protested. Maria, the maid was the first one to see her and she went to get Ridge. He was shocked to see his mother like that. Felicia came and was equally as shocked. They called Eric and they were all relieved Stephanie was home. But to their dismay, they found out Stephanie had no memory of them at all. They convinced her to go to the hospital even though Stephanie wanted to go back to Adam and Ruth. She was admitted to the hospital and Eric managed to convince her not to go back to the streets. He also walked in on Stephanie and Adam kissing. It didn’t thrill him, but he was very thankful for Adam and Ruth for saving Stephanie’s life. And as Stephanie’s memory returned to her, so did her feelings for Eric. “Liz” was gone and Stephanie was back. Her friendship with Adam and Ruth still remains.
