Date: 1997.
Rush was an outsider, living in a small house in Greenland. He wasn´t much of a social person. He was the one who found Eric and Lauren as their plane had crashed near his home. He dragged them inside and nursed them back to health by giving them a shelter from all the snow and cold temperature outside. And food. They recovered and were thankful for what he´d done. But it was obvious that Rush didn’t like Eric. He listen in to when Eric and Lauren fought about Stephanie. He found it amusing that Eric missed Stephanie and was worried about her missing him, when Stephanie had just turned down Eric´s proposal in Italy (or that is at least what Eric thought at the time). Eric didn´t appreciate Rush and Lauren making fun of it and left for a walk in the snow. Lauren and Rush started talking and learned a few things about each other. Rush started falling for Lauren and grew more annoyed with Eric, who whined too much according to him. He told Eric that he should be grateful as Eric could never survive the wilderness without Rush.

As Eric grew more curious about Rush, he locked Eric into the outdoor dog cage. Eric almost froze to death but managed to get free. He found Rush coming on to Lauren who wanted him to back off. But Rush wouldn´t. He and Eric got into a fight and they realized how sick Rush was. Eric got hold of a weapon and fired. It hit Rush in his chest and he escaped out in the cold.

Eric and Lauren believed he would die out there. He never returned and Stephanie, Ridge and the rescue team saved Eric and Lauren. They all flew home. Eric reunited with Stephanie after learning she wanted to marry him. Lauren met a new guy, Jonny. He was Rushes twin brother. But he was a good man. He and Lauren started dating.

But Rush hadn’t died. He was very much alive and on his way to Los Angeles. He kidnapped Jonny and took his place as Lauren’s new boyfriend. At first, no one could tell a difference. But as Eric visited, he was a little too anxious to get rid of him. He called him “big shot”, which had Eric confused. He discussed it with Stephanie but couldn´t quite think of why that bother him – until he remembered Rush calling him it. Then he realized that Rush was back. He raced over to Lauren´s apartment, where Lauren had spotted his scar from where Eric had shot him. She wanted him to leave her, but he wouldn´t. He was going to have her. Eric came there and the door was locked. He kicked it in, surprising Rush. The men argued and Rush wanted to kill Eric. They got closer and closer to the balcony and almost went over. But only Rush went over – and died. Lauren reunited with Jonny, but the relationship faded.
