Date: 1993-1996, 1998.
Sheila Carter came to town after escaping Genoa City where everyone thought she had been killed in a fire. She couldn´t go back as she would go to jail for stealing a baby and kidnapping Lauren and her mother. So Sheila fled to Los Angeles. She got a job as a nurse at Forrester creations. She fell in love with Eric and desperately wanted him to divorce Brooke. Sheila and Eric started dating. He had no idea of all the pain she had caused people in Genoa City. But Sheila had obstacles to overcome. The fact that Eric could be the father of Brooke´s child. She couldn´t let that happen so Sheila got into the lab at the hospital, dressed in her nurse uniform, and was going to change the blood samples of Ridge and Eric at Bridget´s paternity test. As she has removed the labels on them, security guard Mike Gutherie walked in. He wondered what she was doing there. He put the blood pipes on spin so Sheila lost track of which was which. She had to guess as she replaced the labels. The test results came back and showed Ridge was the father of Bridget, which pleased Sheila. She wanted to get the job as the babysitter of Rick, so she set out to get rid of nanny Judy. She spilled out soap on the floor that had Judy falling and seriously getting injured. She ended up in a wheelchair for life. And Sheila threatened Judy not to say anything, or she would harm Judy´s sister and niece. Judy backed off and gave up her job. Sheila could step in. Now, she could get Eric to marry her.

But more problems came. Stephanie wasn´t about to let Sheila marry Eric. Lauren, Sheila´s nemesis from Genoa City came to town to see the Forrester showing. Too bad for Sheila that Lauren knew the Forrester family as her father Neil was a friend of Eric and Stephanie´s. Lauren discovered Sheila and was horrified. She wanted to tell the Forresters the truth, but Sheila learned her secret – that she was having an affair with Brad Carlton behind her husband Scott Grainger´s back. Sheila had some photos of Lauren and Brad taken and threatened to expose Lauren to Scott. Stephanie knew Lauren had something on Sheila that would stop Eric from marrying her. She wanted to know what. But Lauren couldn´t tell. So when Sheila left town to visit Lauren in GC, Stephanie invited Eric to dinner. They had a very good time that ended with a dance in the moonlight. Sheila wasn´t pleased to learn they were getting closer, so she speeded up her plans. It was time for the wedding and Sheila played sad in front of Eric that his family would not give them their support. He told his family to come and support them or not to come at all. They came – all wearing black as if it was a funeral. Stephanie tried again to make Lauren open her mouth about Sheila and Lauren came to the wedding. Sheila was scared to death that Lauren would spill her guts. So she ran away from the the alter and left Eric upset there. The family was relieved and left Eric there. But Sheila returned. She gave Eric a sappy story about her being so upset with the Forrester´s lack of support. Eric first didn´t buy it, but she seemed sincere and they wed in private. Later, Sheila smugly visited Stephanie to tell her she was now Mrs Eric Forrester.

Eric bought a house for them and Sheila wanted a baby. But Eric didn´t. Sheila visited Dr Jay Garvin, a psychiatrist, to get things off her chest. But when he didn´t like what she was doing, she killed him since he knew too much and could he a threat to her. Eric confided in Stephanie that Sheila wanted a child, but he didn´t. So she suggested a vasectomy. Eric went through with it and recovered in Stephanie´s house.

Sheila didn´t get pregnant despite how much she tried. So she slept with Connor Davis to get pregnant with his child and could tell Eric he was the father. So when she told Eric the news, he told her about his vasectomy. Sheila was busted. She took James Warwick hostage, her new psychiatrist who also knew too much. She kept him prisoner in her basement, the dungeon. James made love to Sheila in order to find a way to escape. He did and Sheila was now out for revenge.

Sheila took a gun and called Eric and Stephanie among others to meet with her. Eric, Stephanie, Ridge, Brooke, Lauren and James were gathered in the mansion as Sheila pulled out the gun. She wanted to kill Stephanie and aimed at her. Eric and Brooke stood in her way and Sheila was talked into giving up. She took out a poison and drank it. She collapsed to the floor and before losing conscious, she told Eric she only wanted him to love her.

Sheila was saved and brought into a psychic hospital. She agreed to sign the divorce papers from Eric. Stephanie and Eric celebrated that he was now free of Sheila. But Sheila was now about to be released as the doctor thought she was okay. Stephanie and Eric protested against it, but Dr Brian convinced the board of it.

Stephanie went to visit Sheila at the hospital and they got into a disagreement which caused Sheila´s friend there, Sarah, to strangle Stephanie. Stephanie struggled to get air and Sheila stopped Sarah from killing Stephanie. When Stephanie woke up, she couldn´t believe Sheila had saved her life. Sheila was set free, but she wasn´t to go near the Forresters.

But when Stephanie and Eric went after custody of Rick and Bridget when Brooke was missing, Sheila couldn´t stay away. She wanted Stephanie to suffer. So she sneaked into Stephanie´s bathroom and changed her medication to mercury pills. Stephanie slowly got worse and worse. She kept forgetting things, had hallucinations and went ballistic over little things like a missing vase. Sheila was the one who provoked her as she hid the vase. She came over to fight which ended by Stephanie wanting to choke Sheila. But Sheila came up on top and had a ball watching Stephanie suffer.

Stephanie didn´t know what was wrong with her when she also started having hallucinations. She kept seeing Brooke smiling evilly at her as she teased Stephanie about having Ridge all to herself. Stephanie wanted her gone, but Ridge kept telling her Brooke wasn´t there. Stephanie called up Maggie and confided in her that she was losing it.

The family was getting worried about her. She was committed to a hospital as she was getting treatment. Stephanie wanted Ridge and Eric to leave her there alone as she didn´t want to be a burden to them. They assured her she wasn´t a burden. Sheila came to visit one day and taunted Stephanie.

Stephanie came close to giving up her life, but a visit from Brooke telling her to fight as the family needed her, cheered her up. Sheila saw how Brooke wanted Stephanie to get better and she put out the page of mercury poisoning to James as he was trying to find out what was wrong with Stephanie. After finding cause as to why Stephanie was sick, she got the right treatment and recovered.

Sheila later married James after having his child, Mary. James had troubles with his job as he had married his former patient. It didn´t come off to the board that it was a healthy marriage and it didn´t give their practice a good reputation as it was against their say to date a patient. James had to make a choice between Sheila and his career. Stephanie was there to help her good friend. She didn´t like the idea that he had married her nemesis Sheila. And most certainly that Sheila was raising Mary as Stephanie felt Sheila couldn’t be a good mother considering her past deeds. Stephanie saw no change in Sheila. Sheila on her part didn’t appreciate Stephanie butting into her and James life. She realized James job was in danger and wanted to help him, but didn´t quite know how. Time passed and James and Stephanie grew closer which infuriated Sheila and she warned Stephanie to stay away from her husband. On the evening Ridge and Taylor had married, Stephanie got drunk on champagne. James took her home and they ended up talking by the pool. It ended with them kissing which Sheila saw from where she was hiding, spying on them.

After James left, Sheila came out from hiding and was livid. She told Stephanie that she WOULD stay away from James, or else… It ended with the women fighting. Sheila pushed Stephanie to the ground and as she got up, they started struggling and they both ended up in the pool. Sheila held down Stephanie´s head underwater and meanwhile screamed at her to stay away from James and Mary. Stephanie struggled to keep above the water and suddenly Sheila let go of her. She warned Stephanie once more and left.

The next morning, Stephanie received a package. It was a doll and as she held it up, the head fell off. The doll was a symbol of Thomas, Stephanie´s grandson. And a note to it warned Stephanie once more. Sheila sneaked into Ridge and Taylor´s house and cut a piece of hair off of Thomas and gave Stephanie. It freaked Stephanie out and she forced Ridge and Taylor to install an alarm system. But she wouldn´t tell them why. Sheila warned her against telling James or anyone. So Stephanie kept quiet and stayed away from James. That until James forced her to tell him why she acted to strange. She told him about Sheila´s threats. James was shocked that Sheila had gone back to her old tricks and he forced her to admit it. Sheila did and James had her admitted to a psychiatric hospital. James filed for custody for Mary and it went to trial. Sheila was angry seeing Stephanie holding Mary. The judge wanted Stephanie´s testimony and Stephanie said she felt Sheila wouldn´t be a good mother to Mary and that she was dangerous to society. It was enough to put Sheila away and James getting solo custody. Now, Sheila wanted revenge.

One day, Sheila switched places with an intern that was about to be released from the hospital, promising her a better future. She put on a disguise as a rough looking blonde woman. She decided it was time for payback and went to see Stephanie. They argued and Sheila pulled out a gun and pointed on Stephanie. The police learned Sheila had switched place at the hospital and called James. He was afraid Sheila had gone after Stephanie and Mary and they rushed to the mansion. But it was too late. Sheila had shot Stephanie. She was alive but bleeding heavily. Just as Sheila was about to finish the job of killing Stephanie, Amber rushed in and threw herself at Sheila, saving Stephanie’s life. But Amber passed out after being pushed to the open fireplace. Sheila went to get Mary and said bye-bye to the on again off again conscious Stephanie.

Sheila left town with Mary before the paramedics and James got to the mansion. Stephanie was rushed to the hospital for emergency operation. She had James by her side all the time. The Forrester family started gathering at the hospital as Stephanie woke up in her hospital bed. Everyone was so relieved that she had survived – thanks to Amber, Stephanie said. Stephanie and James’s relationship faded out later.

Now, 4 years later, Sheila has returned to town with her daughter Erica (Mary). She goes under the name Sheila Lovejoy. She is in love with Eric and that´s why she renamed Mary to Erica. She hates James and believes Eric is the only one who ever really loved her. He was the one who gave her love and joy = Lovejoy. Sheila knows she can never win back Eric, so she wants her daughter Erica to have Eric´s son Rick. Sheila still loathes Amber and Stephanie…
