Starting at your toes, relax your body completely. i.e. start at your toes, move up to lower leg, move up to torso, move up to head, etc. It is very important that you are VERY relaxed; even think of relaxing your hair. If thoughts come into your mind while you are trying to relax that’s ok. Acknowledge the thoughts, but don’t get swept up in them. Take deep breaths as you’re doing this, breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. Be sure to take very deep breaths like you would if you were doing Yoga or any other exercise.

Once you feel super relaxed and like your thoughts are in control imagine that when you inhale you are inhaling a bright white purifying light that is full of positive energy. When you exhale imagine all of the negative thoughts flowing out of your mouth, imagine that they are rushing out. I usually like to imagine that the negative energy is brown, but just do whatever works for you.

I like to personalize this by imagining a cluttered office space in my head and imagining a box that I store all of the negative energy in. I open the box, and release all of the negative energy that has been stored there. As I do this, positive energy organizes my cluttered space and I am able to think clearly now. This is my own personal touch, you can use this but it’s usually more beneficial to create your own scenario.

Once you are feeling totally relaxed and slightly calmer, imagine a set of 5 steps (If you want to practically hypnotize yourself you can imagine 10, but it’s best to start out with 5 until you are used to the meditation). Make the stairs very aesthetically appealing to you. I use a set of white marble steps. Now, starting at the top, slowly descend each step. As you go down each step, you will tell yourself to relax deeper and deeper. Once you have reached the bottom (5th) step, you should feel totally relaxed, totally at peace, and absolutely zero stress. Also, your breathing should have slowed to a slightly slower pace than normal. If you don’t feel like you have reached this level, ascend another set of 5 steps exactly as you did before. Keep repeating this until you feel that you are ready to go on.

After you have finished with the steps, you will find a path in front of you. This path will lead to anyplace you want it to. Try to create a place that has been of great comfort to you, I use a private beach in the Bahamas that I liked. For yourself, keep in mind that you can go anywhere in time, and to anyplace that has been very spiritual, or calming for you.

Once you have reached your destination sit and reflect there and ask yourself what it is you are struggling with, and how you can mend the problem. You can do this any number of ways. You can think about it in your head alone, you can imagine your god, higher power, goddess, best friend, passed friend/relative, yourself with yourself, etc. just remember that you should converse with someone that you feel holds great wisdom and meaning in your life.

When I am finished I usually say goodbye to the person I am conversing with, turn around, find the path I came in on, and walk down the path out of the meditation. I like to tell myself that I have been very productive and that as I walk this path, every step I take back to reality enforces what I have learned through my meditation. I tell myself good job, and count to three (slowly) then open my eyes.
Meditations....
My friend Lindsey has written the following meditation, which I think works wonderfully. I will add some more of my own when I get the chance, so check back soon! My thanks and bright blessings to Lindsey.....  : )
