For everyday protection, I wear my ankh or pentagram necklace, as well as my malachite bracelet and my favourite rings. I think that whatever you wear should be something that feels right to you. Don’t wear a pentagram if you don’t feel comfortable with it on (however, you shouldn’t feel ashamed about wearing it! If you are, ask yourself why…) Make a small protection charm if you don’t want to wear jewellery. Make a mojo bag (or but one from any occult suppliers) and fill it with herbs, gems and anything else that has a special meaning to you.

To protect your home from negative energy, there are many old traditions could try. Personally, I always keep an onion on my kitchen windowsill to absorb negativity. When the onion begins to rot, throw it away and replace with a fresh one. I also hang wind chimes above the front and back doors of my house to repel negative energies. Dreamcatchers are wonderful for protecting you while you sleep and help to prevent nightmares. Hang them above your bed or by the bedroom window – I have 4 all over my room and the work like a treat!

Salt is the best and most readily available protection aid. Sprinkle it around the perimeter of your house, leave a bowl of salt water in the middle of a room to absorb negative energies or create a Witch Bottle using salt.
PROTECTION SPELLS...
Witch Bottle
Witch Bottles are excellent ways to protect your home. They are glass bottles or jars that can be filled with needles, pins, cactus thorns, nails and broken glass. Protective herbs like rosemary and pine can also be added. The following witch bottle uses salt for protection and to draw in any negativity:

Supplies:
Sea salt
Nails, broken glass, pins or similar sharp objects
Splinters of oak, ash or rowan (optional)
1 sprig of rosemary (optional)
1 sprig of pine or pine needles (optional)
1 white candle
1 glass bottle with a cork or lid (or a glass jar with lid)
Sterilise the bottle or jar before you begin. Empower the sea salt with protective energy – see it sucking in bad vibes and negative energy. Pour enough salt into the bottle to fill it by approximately one third. Then add your selection of sharp objects along with the splinters of wood, rosemary and pine needles. Imagine the sharp objects deterring any enemies and negativity away from you and your home. Think of the protective energies emanating from the rosemary and pine. Fill the rest of the space in the bottle with more sea salt. Light the white candle and let it burn for a few minutes. Close the bottle with the cork or lid then take the white candle and carefully drip the hot wax onto the opening of the bottle. Visualise your home being sealed from harm and damage.

Bury the bottle at the entrance to your property, or make several bottles and bury them at the corners of your garden. Make sure that you bury them deep in the ground – these bottles should remain hidden and should never be opened once sealed. If you don’t have a garden, place small bottles or jars by your windows and doors, hidden out of sight. Witch bottles are excellent protection charms and many witches use them instead of casting circles – including myself!
