Dear friend,

The Stewards Planetary House is a new just-being-born movement of working
and non-working poor people who seek to become increasingly able to work together to care for one another together with the planet. Our approach is highly inquiry-oriented and includes new methods of social organization, economics, information technology, childcare, personal development, care of the earth, and much else.

Our unique approach is one which enables people to work together to insure that each person can survive with human dignity by meeting the three levels of human need:

A second key aspect of The Strewards Planetary House is that it strives to combine all seven paths by which people have traditionally sought liberation: the human potential movement, progressive social change, religion or spirituality, ecology, feminism, progressive art, and progressive science.

A third unusual aspect of the Stewards Planetary House is that it uses a revolutionary new kind of corporation - the `Stewards Corporation' - within which to build a dynamic new kind of community.
Like a business corporation, a Stewards corporation is designed to pool the labour power of its members in an effective, well-managed, and organized manner. But unlike business corporations, Stewards corporations are not a dictatorship of the managers and owners over the workers; they are democratically owned and managed `corporate-communities', whose primary purpose is not to make a profit, or to buy and sell goods, but to build the ability of their members to directly produce and share the goods, services, and conditions necessary to meet their needs; optimally develop their physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and social powers; and care for one another and the planet. In so doing, these non-business `corporations of a new type' humbly strive to serve as an organized `vanguard', an advanced or leading force, of the planetary underclass of poor people, whose interests we seek to represent in the struggle for planetary stewardship.

The Stewards Planetary House, and its corporations, are open to all poor people, wherever they may be on the planet. It is also open to all other people prepared to work with us in building a world in which we can care for one another together with the Earth. People are needed to help us to begin our program of `organizing the poor people of the world - beginning with ourselves - to work together as Stewards to care for one another together with the world.
