An Ottawa councillor will greet protesters on the streets next week with a forum to share views on globalization.
Ottawa Coun. Clive Doucet will set up tables outside city hall to gather petitions, briefs and comments on the G8 Summit in Kananaskis June 26-27.
The information gathered by Doucet will be published and forwarded to John Manley, Canada's Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister.
A motion requesting city hall provide a similar forum was rejected last week after councillors decided the feds should be responsible for the protest in the capital.
More than 5,000 protesters are expected to descend on Ottawa during next week's summit in Alberta.
