HOW IT STARTED |
This is just something I have to get out. For those of you that read it, thanks. In the beginning, there was a 12 year old boy who was interested in the Internet. It wasn't long before the idea of creaing a web site took him away. That boy is me, Michael Ruiz. My first website was a Pokemon website titled "The Articuno Extreme". Some of you may even know it, as it was a very popular site at Acmecity. You may even know me as Articuno_Man. I purchased a domain name, (www.articunoextreme.com) got away from Acmecity, and found a host. Unfortunately, my host was controlled by an 11 year old kid (I was probably 13 at this time) so it didn't really help out much. Because of my inability to use html, I was limited to what I could do, which meant I had a really bad layout for my website. Soon later, the little kids that hosted me had sold their domain, which left my site to the dumps. I closed my site, never to re-open it ever again. It was kind of sad as I couldn't face my fellow "Pokemon" fanatic friends anymore, in which I therefore changed my online name to which we all know it now as Erifder. After that, I played Ultima Online (An online game duh) for about a year. Yes, I still do play it, but not as much as I used to. I lost my interest in Pokemon and took a good interest in Mega Man before I started playing Ultima Online. Of course, I dreamt about creating a Mega Man website, but since there were a lot out there already, I never got around to it. Around May, I ventured into the Boards and Mega Man websites. I threw around the idea of making an online rpg with my friend Serenus (Who's been my online friend forever), but that idea too got dumped into the wastebasket. So here I was, with nothing to do, but read the boards every day and talk to my friends online. It was around this time I ventured into the "daily web comics". I was little sad, for you see my brother finally moved out, and since he couldn't pick on me anymore it got pretty boring. I took great interest in these, thinking how amazing it was to just take some sprites and put them into a cheesy background with some text. So I started to do it, which is this site. I dedicate this site to my brother, who has always hated Mega Man in general and always thought that comics were the dumbest things in this earth to read. So far, the comics have been a success to me (with an average of 90 hits a day) and Ruby Red has over 100 comics, and still growing! - Michael Ruiz (AKA Erifder) Age 16 |
