NEDERLANDS 2  ...windmills & tulips

This collection of photos were taken on after our eventful visit to Amsterdam.  Apart from the sunset photo, the rest were taken on our last day in the Netherlands (Tuesday). We saw the old Windmills at Kinderdijk and then a huge flower gardens, with heaps of Tulips...these are two things that Holland is famous for...Windmills and Tulips.

Kinderdijk - the home of the windmills...many years ago, you would have been able to find windmills like these all over Holland.  However, these days they are not needed, so you only see a few left.  In Kinderdijk, they have kept these preserved, I think mainly for tourists...but it is the the only place you will see this many...there are about 19 of them all in this area.

This beautiful sunset over the North Sea, is the first real (beach) sunset I have seen first arriving!

Tulips!!! ...at the blumen (flower) gardens...it was beautiful...but I've never seen so many people, cars, and buses at one place just to see flowers!!!  But after going inside, you can see why.
