to my Web page. It may take a while before it's all done, and with luck it will be an evolving project.
My name is Erin. I have lived in Seattle for the last nine years, after growing up in Olympia (WA) and going to school at Whitman College in Walla Walla (WA). I then spent a chunk of time overseas, mostly in France and Morocco. I was studying for my Masters in Modern Languages at Universite Paul Valery (this site is in French!) in the southern French city of Montpellier (also in French!) while at the same time doing research into the future of Franco-American relations in the EEC's post-implementation phase. Quite a challenge! I worked for close to 7 years at a translation/interpretation agency, which later morphed into an information technology firm, but now I spend my days at the University of Washington School of Medicine. I also work a couple nights a week at a local pub, where, among other things, I run a trivia quiz on Monday nights. I've learned lots of (useless) things from researching quiz. Did you know the branch of chemistry concerning fermentation and brewing is called "zymurgy"? And ducks sleep with one eye open...

I love soccer & baseball, enjoy cooking (and eating!), adore "
The X-Files", get a kick out of learning new languages (I'm fluent in French, can get by in Spanish and Italian, studied a bit of Japanese and dabbled in Hebrew and Irish), and spend all possible time with a book in hand (thank goodness for those long bus rides!). I think giant squids are the coolest animals on earth.
