Retail/Service Work Experience
Having worked with many businesses, I have amassed an excellent outlook toward customer service and out-reach, as well has having gained experience with both team and independent work. Working with companies such as Starbucks (2007), UNIC (2004-2006), Thrifty's (2005), Alia (2004) as well as Sears, Tim Horton's and others, I have had a broad base of experience from sales and stocking to Barista/Waitress and Assistant Manager (UNIC). These positions helped develope skills in several versions of sales software as well as performing transactions in cash, debit, credit and gift coupons. As an assistant manager for UNIC I gained experience in some administrative duties such as posting pay roll and determining sales goals and budgets. In addition to these important skills, I have developed a sincere commitment to exceptional customer service.
Dear WannaDive Bonaire;
It is with excitement that I found your website as I have been planning a trip to Bonaire for April 2008. Though the original focus of the drip has been to take some Underwater Photography courses and shoot wet and topside for a couple weeks, your site has rekindled the hope of taking more certification courses as well.
Since becoming certified Open Water in Curacao, December 2005 after a life-long love of all things ocean, I have been daydreaming of the possibility of earning my Instructor Diver or Dive Master Cert and working at a dive facility. Having looked at many 'schools' of diving online and being offput by the prices ($10,000USD and up) your site has rekindled the hope that I might be able to at least get closer to DM or Instruction Diver.
I have been hoping to make my stay in Bonaire last closer to a month, if anything were possible where I could stay for this long or perhaps a little longer, I would be thrilled. Certifications I'm interested in are Night Diver, Underwater Naturalist, Underwater Photography, and Advanced Open Water up to DM. In addition to taking my courses I'd be happy to help out 'around town' in any way I could.
Thank you for your time. Below is a brief resume and mini-portfolio.

Other Work Experience
I have also had the privilege to pursue jobs outside of the 'traditional' realm of retail and food service. I have been an independent dog handler since 1999 and have shown many dogs to the top of their breeds. In 2007 I was given the opportunity to assist a professional handler on a trip which took me through four provinces and two states. In addition to this interest I have also worked as a stable hand on three horse farms, one in Nova Scotia and two in Ontario. This life long love for animals has given me a whole realm of experience with physically demanding and compassionate work. I have worked with animals of all types and training levels and had many opportunities to assist veterinarians, farriers and other industry professionals.
In 2006 I relocated to Montreal and Toronto in order to work in the fashion industry as a model. This exciting opportunity allowed me to work with people from many countries and of all ages. During this time I was also lucky to have my interest in photography recognized and was given many opportunities to be of assistance to professional photographers. These oppertunities have considerably strengthened my independent and collaboration skills and well as budgeting, time management and interpersonal skills.

The animal I would most like to be in the water with is the Great White Shark.
In grade three my science fair project was called "Sharks: Good Guys or Bad Guys". I was awarded Honorable Mention.
In grade six I had my first published poem in a Canadian Anthology. It was called "Cheetah Song".
If I could have a super hero power it would be the ability to breath underwater.
I believe that too many people are not paying attention to Global Warming and it's effects.
I practice the Japanese martial art, Aikido.
When I was little I preferred Jacques Cousteau over cartoons and Jane Goodall's Biography over picture books.
I love music from all over the world.
My favorite artistic medium (other than film) is Conte Pastel.
One of my greatest fears is that my nephew will never get to see a reef due to coral bleaching and irresponsible harvesting.
I was Certified as an Open Water Diver in Curacao, Dutch Antillies.
On my very first dive I saw an Eagle Ray.

My favorite experience to date was a Night Dive in bad weather with poor visibility. Being thrown around on the way to the wall and unable to see the person in front of or behind you was a very strange sensation. It was amazing when we arrived at the wall; the water was suddenly calm and clear. We saw an amazing assortment of night creatures and the bioluminescence of the microorganisms in the water was amazing. I will never forget that dive.
