"Bad Hair Day"
This is the first picture that was taken of Cardinal. When Cardinal was rescued, he was about 2 weeks old. Our human's beagle (Skippy) was outside one day barking at something on the ground, so my human went out to see what the problem was. It was there that she found this little greyish brown ball of fluff. So she put her beagle inside the house and waited all day to see if it's parents would come for it. Well the sun was going down and she did not want to leave the baby on the ground since Skippy would have to go outside at night and my human did not want the baby to become a toy.
So she got out a little cage that she always has for emergencies and put the baby in the cage. She thought the baby would be hungry since mom or dad were gone so she mixed up a little bit of baby bird formula that was left from hand feeding my partner Kiwi when she was a baby.

But the baby did not want to eat much at first since that thing (eye dropper) did not quite look like any bug that it had eaten before. But it only took about one day before the baby figured out that that mushy stuff wasn't so bad after all. After all, this little guy was not any bigger than the size of a small ckicken's egg at the time.

As you can see, this baby loved to have his picture taken as I do. When there's a camera, it is best to show your "good" side.

Here was Cardinal's temporary nursery. He was quite comfortable here. He even like to have a fluffy towel to snuggle up to at night. He was a good baby, he did not start to peep for food until he was uncovered in the mornings.

Then as all baby do, when he would see my human all he could think was...FOOD! The baby was fed every 2 to 3 hours the first few days. Babies this young require alot of food.
