Errol Flynn Hobart tour
On my other page I have Albuera St School the new one. But this is the one Errol attended in the year 1919. The school built in 1913 is now being turned into four luxury apartments priced at $1,000,000 each.
Hi all well I had been on my own Tassie tour now it was time to take the official tour. Bob, Steve, Heather, ILa, and myself took off on another Flynn adventure . Some of the places were the same as my previous pages but some I had not seen . so lets GO.....
All that is left of the Queen Alexandra Maternity Hospital where Errol was born. Ila was also born here and her mother was in the same room as Mrs Flynn a year later . This is now flats, the things people do.

This is the beach where Errol was taught to swim by his mother. He says in my wicked wicked ways that the water was cold. And the black sand. The Errol Flynn Society of Tasmania is trying to get the reserve here to have a name change and become The Errol Flynn Reserve. Well good news .The council passed the naming on 23-6-03 we are all over the moon. Also the council has just done a regrassing of this area it looks great
Errol left Albera St School to enrol at Friends school in the second term of 1920. He was a border here. Friends is the only Quaker school in Australia. And they are now wondering if it is the only one in the world

We were lucky enough to meet the head of the company that had bought Albuera Street to change into apartments .His name is Errol Stewart yes named after Errol as his mother was watching a Flynn flick when she went into labour. He is kindly donating a plympth so we can put up a plaque outside the school gates about the school and Errol's involvment there. We have had the plaque made and are now awaiting for the plympth to be finished so we can attach our plaque to it. The plaque is being placed under a chestnut tree that is around 100 years old it just looks like the trees Errol jumps out of in Sherwood forrest
