snes
emulators
[SNEmul]
DOS
:: This emulator runs at a decent speed and has good
sound emulation. It also has a very nice and easily
configurable GUI. Extra features include a mod ripper,
graphical visualization, a debugger, and more. It supports
transparency effects in 16 bit mode, and it doesn't
require VESA2 support.
[Snes9x]
DOS
/ Windows
:: This is the last SNES emu that I used. Both DOS and
Win versions have nice GUIs, and has real time save/loading.
This is now one of the best SNES emulators around, next
to ZSNES. They also have French
Version and German
Version of Snes9x.
[ZSNES]
DOS
/ Windows
:: Though I have'nt tested it, they say this the fastest
and best SNES emulator around. It features all SNES
screen modes as well as add/sub transparencies in 16
bit graphics mode (VESA2 support is required), mosaic
effects, Super FX emulation (Star Fox, etc), DSP1 emulation
(Mario Kart, etc), C4 emulation (MegaMan X2/3), real
time saving, and great GUI which lets you configure
the emulator to your heart's content. It has interpolated
sound, supports the snes mouse, and has a slew of other
options as well including movie recording and modem
to modem netplay.
