estás, Valparaíso, recostado
a la orilla del mar donde trasluces
el sueño de tus cerros, desvelados.
Yo nací en tus violentos contraluces
junto al viento que fluye desatado,
donde canta el amor, donde produces
marinos de alma errante y sueño alado.
Fluir de ti es ser barco que zarpa,
gaviota aventurera, mástil, arpa
murmurando tu música despierta.
Es ser como la brisa o el mar fecundo...
Valparaíso, corazón del mundo,
ancha casa esperando, mano abierta.

BIOGRAFÍA
Alfonso Larrahona Kästen
nació el 23 de Febrero de 1931. Fue el octavo hijo de Mary Kästen y Alfonso Larrahona. Hizo sus primeros estudios en el Liceo “Eduardo de la
Barra”, en Valparaíso y continuó luego en la Escuela Normal. Llegó a ser Profesor Universitario en la Universidad de Chile, más fue exonerado en la
época de la dictadura.
Nació con vocación poética la que ha cultivado durante toda su vida, haciéndose acreedor a los innumerables premios que a continuación destacamos.
PREMIOS , DISTINCIONES Y NOMBRAMIENTOS POR SU OBRA POÉTICA:
1954. PRIMER PREMIO: “CONCURSO NACIONAL DE POESÍA” de “ASARE”, Asociación Artística de las Escuelas Primarias, Valparaíso ,Chile. Por “Prefacio para tu Vida”.
1970.-PRIMER PREMIO “CONCURSO NACIONAL DE POESÍA: SESQUICENTENARIO DEL ZARPE DE LA ESCUADRA LIBERTADORA AL PERÚ”. I. Municipalidad de Valparaíso. Obra: “Habla el Mar”.

1991.- PREMIO “JOSÉ VASCONCELOS”, otorgado por el “Frente de Afirmación Hispanista”,

1994.- DIPLOMA DE HONOR POR SU OBRA POÉTICA, otorgado por la “Casa del Poeta Latinoamericano”, con Sede en Montevideo, Uruguay.

Porte des Poetes”, París, Francia.
