The Overlanders were a folk trio signed by producer Tony Hatch to Pye Records in 1963. They were perhaps too wholesome for the British market and better suited to mid-sixties America.
The Overlanders played an uncomfortable mixture of folk and beat music and they reached No. 1 with their version of The Beatles song "Michelle" (Michelle/Cradle Of Love - Pye 7N 17034).
